What is a facialist?

A facialist is an expert in hands-on facial care. She works on the muscles, fascia and circulation through massage, to relax, firm and bring radiance back to the skin. At Pimp My Derm, Virginie Tran practises a fully bespoke facial massage.

How much does a facial massage cost at Pimp My Derm?

The Première Rencontre (first visit) costs €155 for 90 minutes. After that, the Facialist Massage costs €145 for 60 minutes and the Signature version €189 for 90 minutes.

Are the results visible from the first session?

Yes. The facial contour is redefined, the features are more relaxed and the complexion more luminous. The effect builds over the sessions.

Facial massage or injections: what is the difference?

They are two different approaches. Injections are medical procedures, performed by a doctor. Facial massage is a hands-on beauty and wellness treatment: it works on the muscles, fascia and circulation for a relaxed, luminous face that keeps all its expressiveness. It does not claim to produce the same effects, and does not replace medical advice.

Do the massages involve injections or devices?

No. No injections, no machines: the promise of a natural, non-invasive treatment that relies on Virginie's touch. She may extend it with gentle tools such as gua sha, facial cupping or, as an add-on, the pHformula Proton Pen.

What is the Proton Pen?

The pHformula Proton Pen combines the Nano Pen technique with a proton delivery system. Its silicone cones work on the skin without breaking it and help it absorb pHformula's transdermal solutions, working in synergy with them to naturally stimulate cell metabolism.

It targets dull complexions, uneven texture, pigmentation, marks and scars and loss of elasticity, as well as the eye and lip contours, neck, hands and body. It can be added to any facial ritual.

Does Virginie see English-speaking clients?

Yes. Virginie sees clients in French and English, at all three ateliers: Paris 2nd, Bois-Colombes and Asnières-sur-Seine. All treatments and packages are available at each atelier.

How do I book an appointment?

Treatments are by appointment only, booked online. For a first visit, book the Première Rencontre.

How will I feel afterwards?

Light, with a relaxed face, and often a deeper sleep the following night. As the work is deep, you may feel slight stiffness in the face the next day.

How often should I come back for lasting results?

The effects show from the first session and settle in with regularity. The packages are designed around roughly one session a month: 5 massages over 6 months, or 10 over 12 months. For a specific date, Le Grand Jour concentrates 3 treatments over the final month.

Can I come after injections (Botox, hyaluronic acid)?

Your face deserves a little patience. For the massage to be safe and pleasant, please allow these intervals after an aesthetic procedure:

• Botox: 2 weeks
• Hyaluronic acid or fillers: 4 weeks
• Thread lift and surgical facelift: ask your doctor

After a thread lift or a facelift, lymphatic drainage is possible, but myofascial massage is not suitable for several months.

In all cases, follow your doctor's advice if it is longer.

Massage is also not recommended with inflammatory acne, fever, broken or very reactive skin. For any condition under medical follow-up, written approval from your doctor is required.

Are treatments possible during pregnancy?

It depends on the treatment.

• Facialist massage: possible.
• Lymphatic drainage: possible from the second trimester, around the 4th month. It is not recommended during the first trimester.
• Rituel Hara: not possible during pregnancy.

How do I get to the ateliers?

Virginie sees one client at a time, by appointment. Come as you are, with or without make-up: no preparation is needed.

Bois-Colombes, 36 rue du 14 Juillet: a 5-minute walk from Bois-Colombes station (Transilien line J) and 10 minutes from Les Agnettes metro station (line 13). By car, paid on-street parking in the surrounding streets or around Place Jean-Mermoz.

Paris 2nd, 50 passage Choiseul: a few steps from Quatre-Septembre (line 3) and Pyramides (lines 7 and 14) metro stations. Parking is paid and very limited in the area, so walking or public transport is best.

Asnières-sur-Seine, 8 rue Pilaudo: from Bécon-les-Bruyères station (line L), bus 178 to the Chanzy stop. Paid on-street parking in the surrounding streets, depending on availability.

What is the cancellation policy?

You can change or cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before, using the link in your confirmation email. After that, or in case of no-show, the session is due. If you are late, the session may be shortened so as not to delay the following appointments.

What is the difference between a facialist and a beautician?

A beautician covers all beauty treatments using defined protocols. A facialist is devoted to the face: she first reads its tension and asymmetries, then works in depth on the muscles, fascia and circulation.

Can I give a treatment as a gift?

Yes, with a Pimp My Derm gift card, valid for 6 months on all rituals, at all three ateliers.
